18th St. Washer Champion

The "washer" throwers....
The covenent tropy!
Winner Winner....Chicken Dinner!

Max and Uncle D

Ok...every time we go to Hays these boys get the beer and the washers out...it is a given. This past weekend no exception. Not even sure we were there an hour and there they are...beer and washers. This trip Joe had a surprise planned for the Washer King! Joe has always said that Darrell is so good at this game...they never can beat him! While @ garage sales last week I got a trophy that had a horseshoe thrower on it and Joe tweeked it! He glued on little washers and took it to Hays in anticipiation there would be a winner! Joe was like a kid in a candy store waiting to give it to D. So when he beat them for like the zillionth time....out came the trophy...with a presentation and all! It was pretty funny as you can see from the pictures. What these boys don't think of!

Conner gets Baptized!

Maybe he is older than we think if he is wearing dress socks with his tennis shoes!

A rare photo with all of us in it!

Max and his godson...oh the things he is going to teach him...sorry mom and dad!

Parents~Godparents~Conner John

Watch out Conner...here comes the cold water!

This past weekend we went to Hays for the baptism of my nephew Conner. Maxwell Thomas had the honor of being the Godfather. It was a nice baptism and Conner was very well behaved...just talked a little during the service! He is growing so much and developing such a personality. I cannot believe how big he gets from visit to visit! Babies are just the best...wish I wasn't so old! Why can they not stay that way longer! My mom pointed out to me that Max sure has had some big jobs this past year. Godfather this past weekend....and gave Shelly away last September. Quite a couple of big honors for a 15 year old! Thanks Conner for including us in your weekend and can't wait till the next time I get to hold (& kiss) you! You are SO sweet!

Well, the track thing has been really put on hold. Driving this momma CRAZY! Max's ham is still not 100% and coach thinks it best we wait another week before he runs...although Momma might agree as I don't want the injury to get worse....I am really ready for this track thing to pick back up! I will have to admit that I really enjoy watching him run better than I enjoy watching him play basketball. I know he would probably not like me saying that! Will keep you udpated on when the running begins again!

Madison is starting softball. Never played before but think she is going to do just fine. The coach is wanting her to pitch...thinks she will pick it up quickly. She is also enjoying the last days of being a 4th grader...you know next year they will be TOP DOG at the school! She also scored an exemplary on her math state assessment! She missed exemplary by one point on her reading.

Getting ready to welcome my best friend from high school this weekend. So excited to have Tina come visit and hang out! It has been way too long that we have been able to just sit and visit. Really looking forward to it!

***FYI...the pictures were supposed to load in the opposite order than what they did! Still trying to figure this thing out!

Me & My Sis!

Maddie's sisters!!!

The Easter Bunny & his helpers!

Josh & Max hanging out in Nana's trunk.

We had a great Easter with everyone and hope you all did as well. The Easter Bunny made his usual stop @ our house and loaded the kids up with all kinds of stuff. We went to church at Newman (our favorite place to attend mass) and then went to Nana's for Easter lunch. The ham was delicious...even though not one of my favorites....but it was really good to just hang out with everyone! Brandon had the boys for Easter and it was so much fun to watch them do their little Easter egg hunt we did for them in Nana's front yard. Their buckets were overflowing! They were so good the whole time they were there...makes me long for those days when M&M where that age! I sure do miss it! Maddie hunted the eggs that the Bunny left and Max...well he just wasn't into it! Guess that must of been why his basket wasn't as full as Madison's! We also had Alyssa & Hannah join us for lunch. Their mom had to work and we didn't want them to be by themselves so we had them join us. It was nice to have them and think they had a good time.

On a side note..while Maddie and I were at the Taylor concert Max was running in a track meet. He ran the 4x800 relay...they took 1st!.....but while he was running the open 800 he pulled/twicked his hamstring! Joe said that he/coach pulled him off the track during the race so he didn't tear it. So...now he is out for a week. The KU Relays are coming up and he might of had a chance to participate in that so we are keeping our fingers crossed that this hammy will work itself out and he can get back to it! Love this time of year and watching him run!

Hope your Easter was filled with family time...lots of candy....ours was and I know my dad was looking down on us smiling! He would of loved being right in the middle of that kickball game that was taking place in the street!

OH...WHAT A NIGHT!

Maddie sporting her new "Taylor" gear!
Love sharing this with her...
I did use "some" zoom but it sure seems she was this close!
Maddie out by one of her SIX semi's!
She was DONE...she said to me on the way..I can hardly keep my eyes open!

AWESOME...FUN....COOL....those are words that Maddie gave me to describe last night! I would also think that exhausted would have to fall in there also! She danced and hopped and screamed and sang the entire time then "crashed" on the way home! We had a really good time. Our seats were excellent and we even had a bonus....Taylor went for a costume change...or so we thought...and before we knew what was really going on....BAM...there she was in the aisle right next to us! It was so cool to see her that close. She was hugging people and seemed very excited to be here! After the concert we didn't go home...no I took Maddie to the back of the arena (we weren't the only ones) to see if she might come out. Thank goodness it wasn't freezing but we stood out there for a while and saw her bus leave. We were hoping that she might see the small group and make a quick stop. No such luck but it was fun hanging out with some of those girls who just prayed she would make them one of the lucky ones! I will have to say that I am shocked...I was not so sure that she would put on a good concert after listening to her on some of the award shows. She has a lot of energy and amazed that she is only 16 years old! I am sure this is a memory that Maddie won't soon forget! So glad I got to share it with her! Enjoy the pics!
